Crown green bowling

Hanmer and District Bowling Club  has its green and clubhouse at The Hanmer Arms.  The Club was formed in the 1980s when the founding members came together to construct the green and clubhouse.  The green was opened on 1st August 1990 and current membership is about 70.  We have teams that compete in the Malpas, Market Drayton and Whitchurch Leagues but we welcome new members who would like to try our sport.

The Club holds  a number of competitions for members during spring and summer and social events during the winter.  You can be assured of a warm welcome.

A number of players live in Bettisfield and bowl regularly with the club.  If you are an experienced bowler or a novice who would like to try your hand, please give me a call:

In 2008 the green will open during March—depending on the weather.

Sunday September 20th was finals day at the Club.  On a gorgeous warm and sunny afternoon 30 members came along for the doubles cup, to enjoy a great afternoon tea and watch the finals of 3 hotly contested trophies.
